How a Jump Start Works

We hook our battery booster to your dead battery, give it some juice, and you start the car. That’s really it. Our equipment is commercial-grade, so it works on everything from tiny sedans to big trucks. Even those stubborn diesel engines that need extra cranking power.

If the battery won’t hold a jump, that tells us something bigger is going on. Could be the battery is completely shot, the alternator isn’t charging, or there’s a parasitic drain somewhere. Why Batteries Die in Utah

But summer heat actually does more long-term damage. High temperatures accelerate the chemical breakdown inside the battery. So the heat weakens it over the summer, and then the cold finishes it off in the winter. It’s a one-two punch.

If your battery is more than three or four years old and you haven’t had it tested recently, it might be worth getting it checked before the next cold snap rolls in. Just a suggestion from guys who see dead batteries every single day.

When to Call for a Jump vs. When to Call for a Tow

Start with us for a jump. If any of these describe your situation, you probably just need a boost:

• Left the headlights on overnight
• Car sat for a while without being driven
• Interior light or accessory drained the battery
• Really cold morning and the car won’t crank
• Battery is just old and weak

If the car won’t start even after a jump, or if the battery keeps dying repeatedly, that’s a different issue and you might need a tow to get it properly diagnosed. We’ll tell you straight up what we think , we’re not going to keep boosting a battery that clearly needs to be replaced just to charge you for another call next week.
